Dengue Fever Prevention in Central Java, Indonesia -- Rotary Club of Salatiga
(MG# ); Category: Health
A project to reduce the incidence of Dengue Fever in Central Java , centered
in Salatiga, Indonesia. The program will provide organized inspectiion of mosquito
breeding sites in and around homes, education of adults and children, and training
of medical personnel in diagnosis and treatment. The project is similar in nature
and scope to the very successful projects in Purwokerto, Central Jave (MG #7364);
3-H Project #00-114 which covered 14 major urban areas in Indonesia; MG#19658
in Denpasar, the capital of Bali; and MG #58408 in Kabupaten Badung, the developed
area surrounding Denpasar. The project will utilize the experience and training
obtained during these projects with PDG Wibowo Kusumadi and Dr. Sustriayu
Nalim in charge of taining, WHO assisting and observing, and Dr. Duane Gubler
as Technical Consultant.
