World Community Service Committee Projects

Aralogodu Primary Health Care Center, Shimoga, India -- Rotary Club of
Shimoga, India(MG# ); Category:Health
This project will provide ambulance vehicles (van with basic equipments)
and improvement of the maternity ward and basic clinical laboratory equipment
for Aralagodu Health Care Center which will serve small villages around 40-50
miles. This is a government and a Karuna trust, a private non-profit organization
partnership. Rotary MG will help to provide the basic need. Karuna Trust will
maintain the vehicle and laboratory equipment and Shimoga Rotary will supervise
the project and future follow up.
This project has been conceived and planned by Dr. Usha Prabhu who is the
President elect for the 07/08 year. Dr. P. Narayana PDG of 3180 district has
veviewed the project and the club has endorsed this undertaking in the 07/08
Rotary year. Dr. Sudarshan of Karuna Trust is a well known philanthropist in
the state of Karnataka, India and his efforts in upbringing the dilapidated
health centers in the state.
