FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP

DUES PER QUARTER for Active Members (including meals) $ 292.00
      Dues per quarter are broken down into the following categories:  
            Club Operations and Dues   $ 62.00
            Meals (13 per quarter) $ 130.00
            Charitable Activities   $ 75.00
            Paul Harris Sustaining Membership   $ 25.00*
*Members are encouraged to give to the Rotary Foundation in support of its scholarship and humanitarian efforts.
This is done by becomming a Paul Harris Fellow. A donation of $ 1,000 is required for this designation. The
$ 1,000 may be donated at one time or over a period of time by becomming a Paul Harris Sustaining Member.
For example most club members pay $ 25.00 a quarter as a Paul Harris Sustaining Member.
MEAL COST for Guests of Members $ 10.00
MEAL COST for Visiting Rotarians $ 10.00
MAKE UP CREDIT for Attending a Meeting at Another Club $ 10.00
MEAL COST FOR Senior Active Excused and Honorary Members $ 10.00
INITIATION FEE & ASSESSMENT $ 75.00
  1. New members are billed for meals on a pro-rated basis beginning the week following their initiation.


  2. Dues are pro-rated. Dues are billed as club operations (including meals) and charitable acitvities. Charitable activities are those which may qualify as charitable contributions for income tax purposes.


  3. Sepcial events: picnics, dances, musical events, i.e., are occasionally sponsored by the Fellowship committee. The cost may be paid for in cash or billed on the quarterly statement. Members are responsible for costs incurred if they fail to attend or fail to remove their name form attendance list before the established cut-off date.


  4. Quarterly payments are due 30 days after statement date.


  5. Contributions or gifts to Rotary Club of Fort Collins, Inc. are not deductible as charitable contributions for Federal Income Tax purposes. Dues payments may be deductible by members as ordinary and necessary business expense. Amounts contributed as charitable activities are contributions to tax exempt organizations under IRC 501(C)(3). No goods or services are p[rovided in consideration for these contributions.


  6. As a matter of tradition, members donate to the youth activities of the club upon the birth of children, grandchildren, etc. $ 1.00 a pound is given for children, $ 2.00 a gpund for grandchildren, and $ 4.00 a pound for great grandchildren.

How dues in the club are spent (all amounts are approximate):

Dues (based on 190 members) @ $ 62.00 per quarter & meals @ $ 130.00 per quarter = 2/3 of the club's annual budget or $ 146,000.0000 per year. (The cost of doing business in the club is about $ 250.00 per member per year, not including the cost of meals.)

The amount above is used for club operations, including:
            Meals $ 99,000
            Rotary International and Districe 5440 dues $ 18,000
            Club Operations $ 29,000

Charitable contributions (based on 200 members @ $ 75,000 per quarter = 1/3 of the club's annual budget or $ 60,000 per year.

The amount above is used for Charitable Activities, including the following commitments:
            Scholarships (Our club also manages three scholarships not funded by the club) $ 17,500.00
            Youth Activities $ 17,500.00
            International Projects $ 14,000.00
            Community Service (Small and Major Grants) $ 17,000.00
