Completed Projects (7)         (Total cost: $88,370; Rotary Club of Fort Collins share: $16,645)

  1. Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia (MG #54354)          Started 8/04
    A project with the RC of Addis Ababa Bole to provide beds, furniture, and equipment for a hostel for young indigent women seeking treatment at the fistula hospital in Addis Ababa. The women suffer from fistula problems incurred during child delivery which causes them to be outcasts from their own families.
    (Cost: $17,775; FC share(see def. at end): $2,500)

  2. Dengue Fever in Guatemala (MG #50673)          Started 2/03
    A project with the RC of Gualan, Guatemala, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and local officials to provide health education materials and training for a medical personnel, volunteers, and teachers in identification and treatment of Dengue Fever.
    (Cost: $15,250; FC share: $3,500)

  3. School Vans for Mexico (MG #56246)          Started 11/04
    A project with the RCs of Fort Collins Breakfast and Tepic-Nadir, Mexico to provide vans for service to rural children in Tepic-Nadir, Mexico.
    (Cost: $21,000; FC share: $2,000)

  4. Coconut Fiber Processing in the Philippines (MG # 51528)          Started 11/03
    The Ibajay Small Coconut Farmers Development Cooperative is a 2000 member village coop on the island of Panay in the Philippines that grows coconuts as a rural enterprise. The coconut husks are processed into coconut fiber, converted into twines by a spinning wheel, and woven into nets using a loom. The grant was used to build twiners, looms and a roof for the weavers at the coop.

  5. Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) for Russian Entrepreneurs (Not a MG project)            Started 8/05
    A business management training program that brought 11 Russian entrepreneurs to Fort Collins for three weeks of training in small scale construction business practices. This was a project of the four FC RCs and the Windsor RC.

  6. Asthma and Allergy Training Course in Vellore, India (Not a MG project)          Started 5/06
    To train 20 India physicians, in each of three years , in the field of Asthma and Allergy by International Asthma Services, ISA, and given at the Christian Medical College in Vellore, India. Currently there are no training programs in these fields for the nearly 100 million patients with these disorders in the Indian subcontinent.
    (Cost: $10,000; FC share: $3,000)

  7. School Equipment for Children in Salatiga, Indonesia (MG #51925)           Started 11/03
    A project to provide school uniforms and supplies for children at four elementary schools, and equipment for vocational training at a school for handicapped children.
    (Cost: $12,000; FC share: $1,800)

  1. Avoidable Blindness in Indonesia (MG #22367)          Started 7/02
    The project will provide training of personnel in detection and prevention of eye diseases in Cirebon, Purbalingga, and Purwokertom Central Java. Included is a pilot program to provide improved nutrition with Vitamin A for children, and checking vision of elementary school students, with glasses provided where needed.
    (Cost: $14,920; FC share: $4,480)

  2. Microcredit Bank of Indonesia (MG #55521)          Started 10/04
    A project to provide small loans to families for business enterprises which enable the families to become self-sufficient. The loans are to be repaid, with interest, and the money leaned out to other families.
    (Cost: $12,500; FC share: $2,000)

  3. Safe Water Supply in La Laguneta in El Salvador (MG #60461)          Started 3/06
    A project to drill three water wells to provide year around safe water for this small community of La Laguneta, El Salvador. During the dry season of four to five months the community struggles to get any water. This project will be done with CSU Engineers Without Borders chapter and the San Salvador Noroeste Rotary Club.

  1. Water Supply to Villages in Colombia          Started 2/05
    A project to provide water to three villages in Colombia, from the slow sand-filter water treatment plant previously completed in San Isidro, Colombia by matching grants from our club.
    (Cost: $15,000; FC share: $2,000)

  2. Santa Maria Orphanage Water Reuse in Mexico          Started 8/05
    A project to provide a wastewater treatment plant for an orphanage in Santa Maria, Mexico and to reuse the water for crops and rabbit raising.
    (Cost: $29,000; FC share: $3,000)
