My name is Kristine S. Lillegård and I am from Norway, I’m spending my school year here in Fort Collins as an exchange student. I am 17 years old and born the 22th of October 1990.

Tromsø at night.
The main island of TromsøI am from a town called Tromsø, in Norway, which is an island with a population of approximately 70,000 citizens.
My town is located in the very north of Norway, in the winter it tends to get really cold, it can get down to -20 degrees celsius, but in the summer the normal temperature is around 25 degrees celsius (77 degrees Farenheit).
I live pretty much on the middle of the Island, which means that I live close to everything. It takes me 5 minutes to walk to school, 7 minutes to town and all my friends live pretty close. So everything is just a bike ride or a walk away.
I live with my parents.

My mother and me

My father and me
My dad, Morgan, is 45 years old and just started a new job for the city of Tromsø. He works as a communication advisor, he does a really good job and is well known in Tromsø. Before, he and his work partner owned a communication firm together, where he was an advisor, then he was offered a better job from the local government, and he said yes. He has a of experience within media, he worked 20 years for the local newspaper. Otherwise, my dad is a sporty man and uses a lot of his time riding his road bike, he also competes in a lot of races.
He is a really good father and has always been a big part of who I am.
My mom, Aid, is 41 years old and works as a hotel manager in Tromsø. She started working at the hotel at a young age and loves what she is doing. She does a very good job and all her employees like her. My mom is the kind of person who cares about others and their feelings which makes her a really good boss. I started working for her as a chambermaid in 2006 and worked there for one year.
My mother, along with my father, are big within road biking. She is the kind of person I can tell pretty much everything and she will help me in any way she can.

My whole family

My brother and meAnd then we have my little brother; his name is Kristian and he is 12 years old. He is in his last year of elementary school now, so when I come back he is going to start junior high. He is a very social boy with a lot of friends, but at the same time he does good in school. He is a very sporty boy, he does track and tennis; before he started tennis he was a really good soccer player.
My brother and I have a good relationship; we never fight and we get along well. He is a boy who is impossible to not love.
A little bit about me, in my spare time, I spend most of my time with friends. I am a tennis player, but I am not very good yet, I started playing in August 2006 and hope to improve my tennis skills here in Fort Collins; the tennis season for girls start in March at school, so I will try and get into the tennis team.
I have done a lot of different kinds of sports during my life. The first thing I tryed was gymnastics when I was 5; after two years I found out that it was not the sport for me. When I was 8, I started playing soccer, I played soccer for five years, but gave it up when I was thirteen. I also did a year of Tae Kwon Do when I was 12.
And then I ended up with tennis when I was 15, I love playing tennis and I think it is a fun sport to do.
I am a girl that is up for trying new things, I went biking for the first time in the Rocky Mountains with my host family (the Hottmans), and I had a lot of fun.
Things that are important to me are my friends, I would not survive without my friends. They are a big part of who I am.

A big part of who I am is my boyfriend, Isak. I met him in April in 2007, and we started dating in May. He is the kind of guy every girl dreams about. It is hard to be away from him for a whole year, but I try to look at it in a positive way, I will see him again soon, and this year i only going to make our relationship stronger. He turnes 18 in January, and he is a really good soccer player in Tromsø. Isak makes every day worth living, and I am very lucky to have him.
So that’s me! I have really enjoyed my time so far in Fort Collins, and I know this will be one of the best years of my life.
