The Membership Process
An important distinction between Rotary and other
organizations is that membership in Rotary is by invitation. A person being
considered for membership is invited by a Mountain View Rotary Club Member to
attend one or more club meetings to learn more about Rotary and the projects
our Club is involved in. The sponsoring
Club Member may then submit the name of the candidate to the Club's membership
committee. An individual, who is
interested in membership but doesn't know any Rotarians, may contact one of the
Club Officers by email to learn more.
A "classification" describes either the principal business or professional service of the organization that the Rotarian works for or the Rotarian's own activity within the organization. Some examples of classifications include education, universities, health professions, banking, real estate, small business ownership, insurance agency, or business management. This is an important consideration as membership is being considered.
A
Rotarian interested in transferring to the Mountain View Rotary Club should
attend a minimum of two meetings as a guest.
An application for transfer is returned to the Club Secretary. The Club Secretary will contact the
transferring members current (or former) club to ensure good standing.
If a new or transferring member is voted as approved by the Mountain View Rotary Club Board, the individual will receive a new member packet that includes a certificate, Rotary lapel pin, 4 Way Test Coin, A Rotary Sticker and various other Rotary items. Membership in the Loveland Mountain View Rotary Club requires the payment of dues on a quarterly basis.
